hello ladies, gentlemen and everyone else and welcome to day 10 of milkas' expression corner !! (new intro line, trying to be a little more original :P )
today we'll be discussing what it means to be ASEXUAL !!
"Asexuality" is a spectrum with its' defining feature being a lack of sexual attraction. it is occasionally shortened as "ace", or "acespec" if referring to the entire spectrum.
asexuality as a label can be used alongside other labels of sexual orientation for multiple reasons, such as an individual feeling sexual attraction but only partially, or someone feeling that the label fits them for other reasons such as romantic attraction, platonic attraction, sensual attraction, etc.
"Aromanticism" is its romantic counterpart, meaning an individual with a lack of romantic attraction. the spectrum of asexuality and romanticism is known as the "A-spectrum", or "aspec" for short.
"Allosexual" is a term used to define a person who is not part of the asexual spectrum in any way, shape, or form.
"Gray asexuality" is the spectrum between asexuality and allosexuality.
some common identities within the asexual umbrella include:
"Demisexual" individuals only experience sexual attraction when the attractive person is someone they're close to or have an emotional connection with already.
"Aegosexual" individuals experience sexual arousal, enjoy sexual content, or have other connections to sexuality, though they have no desire to participate in any sexual activities with others.
"Fictosexual" individuals experience sexual attraction towards fictional characters, as opposed to real people.
"Autosexual" individuals primarily feel sexual attraction to themselves.
"Fraysexual" individuals feel sexual attraction (almost) exclusively to people they don't know, and stop feeling it as soon as any emotional bond is made.
"Graysexual" (or "Aceflux") individuals feel varying intensities of sexual attraction, they find themselves somewhere inbetween on the graysexual spectrum.
the asexual flag consists of a black stripe on the top, a light grey stripe, a white stripe, and a purple stripe on the bottom.
